AHEE just released the third edition of his immersive sound experience series – Bass Quest Vol. III. The new album brings AHEE’s production capabilities to the forefront of the bass scene. This EP is the most ambitious yet for the Portland-based producer, bouncing between disco house, trap, dubstep, breakbeat, DnB, UK garage, glitch-heavy bass, melodic soundscapes, and spiritual psychedelia. The project was released on ZOT Records, AHEE’s own record label that showcases creativity, novelty, and positive energy in electronic music production.
Bass Quest Vol. III follows a career year for AHEE. The artist, who refers to himself and his fans as aliens, has been touring all year with standout performances opening up for Liquid Stranger at Red Rocks, performing b2b with him at EDC Las Vegas and Wakaan Festival. There’s still momentum left for AHEE in 2026, as he is performing at Freaky Deaky, Mission Ballroom, and many other festivals and venues before the end of the year. If you want to catch this bass maestro live, be sure to check out his schedule below the album embed.
Bass Quest Vol. III has fifteen absolute monstrous tracks, but we’re going to dive into our favorite three to get your listening journey off to a hot start. “Owl Party” is one of the EP’s most prominent tracks. The tune starts out with simple, dark sound design with owl noises and cries consistent throughout. As it reaches its apex, the bass gets heavier and the beat gets groovier. “Owl Party” is a slapper that should be on every basshead’s playlist.
“Rude Rhythm” is the next exceptional track on this bass barrage of a full-length project. The buildup starts right as the song begins, with energy rising quickly. With a simple vocal cue, the track launches listeners into outer-space with high intensity. AHEE’s signature space-bass stylings shine bright here with deep, syncopated beats that are sure to get listeners’ hips moving and grooving.
The next certified banger on the EP is “Shadow Self.” When the bassline on this track comes through, it creates a booming, bass-face-inducing celebration of low-end, otherworldly, sound-design. This is one of the more psychedelic-leaning tracks on the EP, with high-pitched instrumentals and silly ad-libs that quickly catch grab listener attention.
Bass Quest Vol. III showcases AHEE’s ability to create galvanizing, energy-fueled tracks while expanding his own sonic universe. The new project is a unique journey through the artist’s capabilities, and listeners are in for a treat this Halloweekend. The ultra-talented producer triumphed with this project, and we at HIHF can’t wait to see what else he has up his sleeve.
