Heard It Here First

Premiered through RuntheTrap this morning, NY bass duo YOOKiE are back with a 5 track, filth-filled, brand new EP, BASSic. Brothers Anthony and Chris, have absolutely crushed it with this release.

This whole tape is truly disgusting, and of course in a great way. My favorite two tracks were “Last Transmission” and “MF Thang“, the collab with G-Rex. EP Opener “F U” with Kai Wachi also slapped very hard, but so did every single track honestly.

If you aren’t familiar with YOOKiE, these two have some serious hits under their belt; they had a massive remix of Skrillex‘s iconic “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites“, more recently flipped NGHTMRE & Dillon Francis‘ “Another Dimension” into a blaring bass banger, and of course “After All” with Slander. That Mario sample on the drop is legendary.

Almost forgot to mention their one poppier track with Slander, “One Life“. That one’s a totally different direction but serious feels without question. Also another one of my favorites.

This new EP is another reminder of the talent the two brothers possess as Bass producers. They played the Lost Lands late night Sound Camps this year, but after continuously fire releases (not to mention through big labels like Never Say Die and Kannibalen), I’m certain they’ll be blowing up on the festival scene very shortly.
