After much anticipation on twitter, Denver-based multi-instrumentalist and electronic producer GRiZ (Grant Kwiecinski) finally dropped the third installment of his vibey, downtempo, ethereal mixtape series Chasing The Golden Hour. He had been teasing it for a while on twitter, first by posting a picture of the full ten-song tracklist announcing its completion. It’s the perfect thing to to kick back and groove along to as summer finally comes to an end, as the project is handcrafted for the perfect sunset vibe.

The past two Golden Hour projects were brilliant, and this new project is a reflection of GRiZ’s self-awareness and deep connection to the universe, revealing his deep knowledge of classic records, funk instrumentals, and poetic lyricism, while staying true to the series’ minimalist yet groovy sound.

GRiZ states:

“I wanted to recreate the carefree good vibes you feel when it’s just about sunset on the perfect summer evening and everything is the most beautiful shimmering tint of gold. Chasing The Golden Hour is that magical moment, it is the cool breeze against your back, it is sweet summer swagger in musical form.”

My personal favorite track from the album to groove along to is “Koh Samui”, which is named after an Island in the Gulf of Thailand. This track, coupled with “Nights In Shibuya” (Japan), gives Pt. 3 more of a global theme.

GRiZ has been putting out a ton of music since 2019, such as his five Bangers EPs, and we’re excited for more to come. Be sure to stream Chasing The Golden Hour Pt. 3 below!
