John “JmaC” McCarten, known to the music world as Manic Focus, brings the head-bopping, bass-bouncing groove in his new single “Fractured.” The electro-soul producer blends elements of electronic-bass, hip-hop, and blues, providing listeners with a scrumptious genre-bending treat. The chopped-up vocal sample provides a spellbinding experience as the southern hip-hop rhythm plays “So I’m in here throwing money, popping rubber bands.”

The album artwork for the single was done by long-time collaborator of McCarten, Logan Walden. Walden has done a countless number of digital and canvas artwork for the Manic Focus project and has had the opportunity to live paint at festivals including Resonance and Electric Forest.

For McCarten, the Denver-based producer had a phenomenal 2020, releasing seven singles and most notably a collaboration EP with fellow Denver bass music sensation Mersiv.

In 2020, Manic Focus was also a part of the huge viral collaboration, “Friends”, produced during quarantine where fellow bass artists Marvel Years, Kill Paris, Artifacts, Break Science, Daily Bread, Dirtwrite, Probcause and SoDown each wrote a piece and passed the track off to one-another via Instagram.

This is just the beginning of what we believe to be another stellar year from Manic Focus. What did you think of his new single? Let us know in the comments!
