Crankdat has been dominating the dance music world for years now. The young producer hit the scene with infectious Soundcloud remixes of huge tracks like Fetty Wap‘s “Trap Queen” and Swedish House Mafia‘s “Save The World Tonight”.
Shortly after, he exploded in the trap and dubstep world and ever since he has been unleashing monstrous bangers for festival stages sound systems and your headphones at the gym alike.
A month ago, he unleashed his Sad Robot EP, off of the legendary Monstercat imprint. Today, he follows up that monumental release with another huge label dropping his music, Kayzo‘s Welcome Records! Crankdat collided himself with Kayzo about a year ago, working together on their behemoth of a collab “The Fire”.
We’ve teamed up with Crankdat and the team at Welcome Records for an official HIHF premiere. Crankdat’s newest effort is “The Same”, featuring chilling vocals from neverwaves. Crankdat continues his dominance with the brutal, ground-breaking production stylings we have come to know and love. With an exhilarating buildup leading into that OG Crankdat styling that got him off the ground, this is going to be a must-add to your playlist for melodic dubstep fans.
Here’s what each of the contributing artists had to say about their killer new collab:
“”The Same”‘s production originally started as a remix – the remix got rejected but I still loved the production behind it and knew I wanted to do something with it. Thomas and I linked and started going over new ways we could bring the track to life!” – Crankdat
“The song is about being jaded and staying out of the dating world, but then getting caught off guard by someone new in your life. A whirlwind of excitement, obsession, euphoria and anxiety ensues. Overthinking and overanalyzing every little detail, but also feeling so alive.” – neverwaves
