All melodic dubstep lovers know RUNN”s beautiful voice when they hear it. She has been featured on tunes with melodic gods ILLENIUMand Seven Lions. Be sure to peep other recent releases with Friendzone and William Black!
“Waterfall” starts with that perfect melodic Ophelia sound. RUNN’s voice is the focus of the track until we hear the kicks coming in and hitting faster until the first slow-hitting drop. The tune is both euphoric and groundbreaking at the same time. Vocals come in and out with beats in the background taking over just like water flowing quietly through a calm river, just until it falls down a cliff splashing and impacting the rocks underneath, which is what we get on the second drop. This epic breakdown has RIOT’s well-known dubstep stylings that make “Waterfall” a bit heavier.
Mixing feelsy vocals with heavy chops makes this into the perfect melodic dubstep combination. RIOT is the best addition to Ophelia we’ve seen in a bit and we hope to hear more and more of their melodic side! Having RIOT collab with Far Cry and RUNN for “Waterfall” is just what Ophelia needed. Congrats to them on their first appearance on Seven Lions’ esteemed label!
