Here at Heard it Here First, we get pretty excited when a talented up-and-comer catches our ears. Today, we are pumped about Chark unleashing his malevolent new masterpiece, “Chimera,” through the east coast underground bass hub Wavecraft Collective.
Chark is one of many skilled producers that make up Wavecraft Collective. This growing label focuses on deep, grungey, low-end bass, similar to the New Zealand-based label Deep Dark & Dangerous, run by the diabolical production duo TRUTH. If you are a fan of that deep, distorted dubstep, Wavecraft is a label you need to keep up to date with.
“Chimera” comes as the second release of the year from the impressive production mind of Chark. He recently contributed to Wavecraft’s “Book Of Shadows: Chapter One” with his ominous track “Bastard.” “Chimera” goes in a new direction with a stronger focus on high-frequency synths and even heavier bass. From the get-go, every second is uninhibited and packed with raw emotion. Here is what the young producer had to say:
“I didn’t start thinking about the name until the track was pretty formed, which is usually the case. There’s parts that are particularly hideous, unrelenting, and reminiscent of monsters. It’s a very high-energy song so I just came up with Chimera. Which is typically a three-headed thing, or any monster or abomination. The track had a surprising path as I originally wrote it with a different direction in mind, but after creating a new beginning, it led to “Chimera,” and I felt really good about it. It’s kind of like an execution of a journey, into a world that I crafted of the aesthetics that I identify with. – Chark
We couldn’t be more excited for fans to dive into the world of “Chimera.” Chark takes us on a monstrous adventure that is both equally exciting and terrifying. Turn up the bass and prepare yourself for the rollercoaster that lies ahead!
