Denver-based producer, Late Night Radio, has been pushing the boundaries of electronic music for over ten years. Drawing inspiration from massive names like J Dilla and Pretty Lights, his music takes on many forms. Fusing elements of live instrumentals, funk, hip-hop, and heavy bass, he embraces his eclectic production style with a distinctive sound that creates the grooviest soundscapes. His newest collab with Michal Menert“Emerald City,” is an elaborate union of uplifting jams and funky EDM.

Michal Menert made an impressive rise to stardom in 2006 as a member of the Pretty Lights duo on Pretty Lights’ debut album Taking Up Your Precious Time. Then in 2010, Menert became the first artist to release on Pretty Lights Music Label, and shortly after debuted his first solo live performance at Sonic Bloom Music Festival. Menert also has a seven-piece live band called the Pretty Fantastics and a music label, Super Best Records, which also includes releases by collaborator Late Night Radio.

Today’s collab, “Emerald City” is an exquisite composition that sublimely exhibits the tastes of each individual artist. This release is a properly balanced creation, proportionately just as groovy as wonky and heavy. It features a charming uprising leading into the kicks of the drums and snares before taking you off your feet with the bellowing sounds of a horn section. The addition of a groundbreaking bassline and funky synths drive this song into a fun and funky new bass anthem.

You can find “Emerald City” on Philos Records, which showcases a tasteful selection of electronic and hip-hop tracks by HIHF favorites Daily BreadArtifakts, and Derlee
