5AM Trio is a name you MUST have on your musical radar. The three-piece band blends electronica with live instrumentation and puts on one of the most compelling and enveloping performances you can currently catch on the festival circuit.
Led by the Uber-talented producer 5AM, alongside his bandmates Zone Drums as well as Keith Wadsworth, of Wax Future, on guitar, the group is back today with a brand new EP. They’ve opened for acts like Sunsquabi, Papadosio, Tiedye Ky, and even performed at the official afterparty for Pretty Lights in Philly last year!
The Concentrated EP has been in the works for years and 5AM Trio is excited for its highly anticipated release. Here’s what 5AM had to say:
“Concentrated and Trilobyte have been in the works for years, as we slowly tweaked the arrangements to successfully bridge the gap between upbeat live jams and high-fidelity bass music. We’ve been playing different versions in sets for years and we couldn’t be happier with the final outcome of this release. From punchy drums and neuro bass drops to funky guitar riffs and full band breakdowns, this release definitely captures our live energy more than anything we’ve released thus far. As the first 2-track release featuring Keith Wadsworth on guitar, and ZONE Drums on the kit, it represents the most up-to-date rendition of the 5AM Trio sound.” – Sam Andrus
This features the group’s first official release with Wadsworth on guitar duties, and frankly, they knocked it out of the park. Even though it only has two tracks, the Concentrated EP is a proper journey through sound, leaving us stunned and unsure of what’s to come from 5AM Trio. Featuring the masterfully concocted potion of jam-inspired electronica, this EP is a must-listen for fans of major touring acts like The Disco Biscuits, STS9, Sunsquabi, Lotus, or Papadosio.
These soundscapes are fueled by hypnotic piano and guitar riffs, backed by a serious assortment of both otherworldy bass sounds and Zone Drums’ impressive and invigorating performance on the kit. It opens up space for listeners to get lost within the Trio’s frequencies, allowing us to groove physically while we are moved emotionally. Check out the Trio’s full performance from their tour with Papadosio:
You can catch 5AM Trio on their 2024 across the country, hitting cities like Baltimore, Denver, Louisville, Columbus, and even Elements Festival and Winter Wake Up Festival. We can’t wait for their set at Winter Wake Up, where we will be on-site as media. Every experience we’ve had with their shows in the past has been awe-inspiring.
