The Widdler is a master of his craft, and over the last decade, he’s paved a lane for himself and many others, while solidifying an impressive sound that’s true to himself. His wide discography highlights his ability to create a variety of genres, all while paying homage to where these influential sounds came from. Whether it be releases like his Outlaws EP, “Power Outage,” No Sleep, or today’s EP, Running Red, The Widdler continues to prove he’s one of the greats in this ever-expanding dubstep and bass music scene.

There’s nothing quite like seeing a Widdler performance, especially with the vault of IDs he’s got under his belt and the variety found in everything he puts out. Running Red, out now via Sentry Records, is no different, the five tracks found within highlight his range as a producer and his ability to create vastly unique tracks on every release.

He gave fans a little taste of what to expect on the release when he dropped the title track, “Running Red” on March 8th. But as always, no one could truly expect what was to come with the full project. The Widdler has so many unreleased tunes that anything he always puts out is a pleasant surprise and keeps listeners awaiting when their favorite ID will be out next.

Running Red, as always, showcases his range of production skills, with some tracks having that dark, edgier feel, like getting lost in the alleyways of a long-forgotten city or being pulled to the deepest depths of the sea. His music also boasts unique elements and homages to other cultures, that The Widdler always respects and hopes to educate fans on.
