Prepare yourselves for an unrelenting barrage of bloodthirsty tearout dubstep as up-and-coming UK producer, STVG, combines forces with yvm3 to create their monstrous new collaborative effort, “rot”. Their earth-shattering sonic warfare fuels STVG and yvm3’s debut collaboration as they unleash their full arsenal of hefty bass to craft this bone-breaking piece. “rot” highlights both artists’ mutual affinity for manipulating the darkest musical elements and transforming them into an electronic piece of art.

Spencer Crisp, also known as STVG, is rapidly gaining accolades in the bass-bending arena, not only for his blood-bathed DJ persona but moreover for his devilish ability to dive into the sinister dimensions of dubstep and harness its elements for an irresistible explosion of percussive power. Despite being in the early stages of his production career, it hasn’t stopped STVG from earning opening performances and booming collaborations alongside heavy-hitting artists like SweetTooth, Jiqui, Chibs, and Versa. His malicious soundplay has even earned him a spot on MARAUDA’s Malignant Music Vol. 3 compilation. STVG has a promising career ahead of him as his fan base grows from his menacing performances at premier venues across France and the UK to his unrelenting original releases.

A veil of mystery shrouds the true identity of yvm3, but that hasn’t stopped his fans from loyally clamoring for each of their heart-pounding releases. The unknown artist(s) has defined their signature sound by fusing an appreciation for heavy metal stylings with distorted basslines and thundering vocals resulting in a unique brand of imaginative dubstep. yvm3’s music speaks for itself as their complex sound design has earned the recognition of dubstep fans and legendary artists like MARAUDA, SVDDEN DEATH, and MUST DIE!. Between the ongoing debate about the true mastermind behind the yvm3 alter ego and their boundary-pushing production, one way or another yvm3 will be a topic of conversation for years to come.

STVG and yvm3’s joint release “rot” pulls listeners into a foreign realm guided by their ominous interlude building suspense for the incoming destructive crescendo. As we approach the track’s initial drop, vicious vocalization hurtles us deeper into their multi-dimensional soundscape followed by a showcase of nuclear percussive force. STVG and yvm3 employ a volatile combination of hefty stutter bass, high-pitched frequencies, and back-breaking percussion to feed the lifeblood of “rot”.  Fusing musical elements from tearout dubstep, trench, metal, and hardcore, the duo constructs a hellish cocktail of each sub-genre resulting in a one-of-a-kind dubstep creation.

Here’s what STVG had to say about his and ymv3’s joint track “rot”:

rot is a product of myself and yvm3 trying to make the most ignorant, heavy tune possible. Whilst the song does have its own personal meaning to us, I think the beauty of music is that everybody can interpret it in their own individual way. A piece of music won’t invoke the same thoughts in everyone and that’s exactly what I want. So to dumb it down, the meaning behind this song is for other people to give it their own meaning or even no meaning at all, it’s up entirely up to them.” STVG expanded on this further saying “This release encapsulates everything that I want my music to be and the fact that I had the opportunity to make it with an enigma like yvm3 is an honor. It’s nothing but raw aggression and emotion, which is exactly everything that I love about music.” STVG also ended off with a tip to aspiring producers saying “Be yourself unapologetically, make the art that you love in the way that you love making it and try to ignore what others have to say, the rest will happen on its own.”

This latest addition to STVG and yvm3’s discographies mutually highlights both artists’ undeniable predisposition for tapping into the more brutal sonic elements and manipulating them into a hard-hitting musical odyssey. After this release, no one can doubt that both artists are worthy of keeping an eye on as their careers continue to unfold.
