The Cyclops Recordings label continues to pound out some stellar releases from their stash of heat. Subtronics has continued to spotlight as much growing talent as possible, which is something we always love to see here at HIHF.
We have seen some hefty releases over the past months from Hukae, Guppi,Chee, EAZYBAKED, Space Wizard, Level Up, Ace Aura, and dozens more up-and-comers across the bass and dubstep worlds.
Today, the hybrid bass/trap duo Shanghai Doom deliver a monstrous EP “Power Generator” with the label. This EP follows their standalone single, “Wow!”. The Shanghai Doom boys mix it up in multiple ways to keep your ears peeled. For four straight tracks, they unleash the madness they have had in store for a while.
Shanghai Doom makes sure that each track here gets you moving no matter what. The mix of trap and bass vibes they provide makes Power Generator an intergalactic field trip of an EP. If mind-melting, numbing bass wasn’t enough, the boys also have an insane collab with Tsimba, titled “Alarms”, included on the new project. Probably the most energetic track off the EP, this tune brings out some serious sound design from beginning to end. The blend the two acts provide in Alarms is nearly perfect, as you are drawn into the mayhem.
There’s no denying Shanghai Doom’s production talent. “Power Generator” is just another example of what the boys are capable of. They have already released on prominent labels, such as Wakaan, Bassrush, and Underdog Records, while also collaborating with Esseks, Runnit, Protohype, Smoakland, and many more. Their stylings of blending trap and bass together make for one of the most unique twists in the scene. The sky is the limit for this duo as they continue to trend in an upwards direction across the scene.
