Yoko has quickly become a predominant force in the Denver bass scene, and beyond, gracing stages at venues like The Black Box, Meow Wolf Denver, and Public Works in San Francisco. She’s carved a unique sound for herself that quickly solidified her spot in the deeper frequency corners of bass music. With an arsenal of releases already under her belt with labels like Deep, Dark, and Dangerous, and The Gradient Perspective, Yoko is ready to add another notch to her discography.
Yoko’s forthcoming album is set to release on Friday, and we were lucky enough to premiere one of those tracks! “Beneath The High Sea” takes listeners on a perilous voyage through the deepest and most untouched places far below the surface. Met with energetic frequencies and low-end brooding bass, Yoko takes her listeners into new spaces in her mind. From the moment “Beneath The High Sea” began, I knew we were about to dive right into another dimension of Yoko’s immense sonic pallet.
The track has slower elements, and more distorted, bouncier ones, making this journey of sound one for the books. You’ll want to continue to dive in again, and again, each time only discovering a new world in the ocean’s darkest of depths.
Yoko is an exceptional producer who continues to push the envelope of sound design, always creating something fresh and exciting. I’m really looking forward to seeing where her career takes her, and cannot wait for the rest of the world to hear this album! Here’s what she had to say about the upcoming project:
“This album represents a sonic journey through the ocean’s greatest depths and the furthest depths of my mind. These 10 tracks take you on an evolution of adventures manifesting from the light, dark, and everything in between. This project was made to embody the hero’s journey and the transformations that arise, without omitting the full array of emotions that coincide.”
You can presave it here and enjoy an early stream of the track below! For anyone in the Denver area free on Friday, December 9th, Yoko is having an album release party with a bunch of talented friends at Temple Nightclub, hosted by Hemi.Wav!
