Arizona-based Yewz is on a warpath. His work effort is exceptional and his stack of IDs is equally impressive. His new EP “Blaze” is his most impressive body of work to date. The rising producer employs devastating basslines, flexing his ever-improving sound design skills. These tracks are certain to set dancefloors on fire all summer long and beyond.
The EP’s eponymous lead single set the tone for the rest of the EP. A fiery opening, “Blaze” delivers incredible dancefloor energy and a crisp bassline. “Get Down” employs traditional trap horns for an epic introduction. It’s easy to picture this as a hype opening track for a Yewz DJ set. The song’s massive bass synths are certain to send crowds into frenzies.
“Fired Up,” with rapper Lowkea, is another festival-ready smasher. Yewz and Lowkea made waves with their single “Creator” in 2021. Lowkea’s bars are passionate and forceful, a perfect match for the in-your-face nature of the track. “In Da Cut” is a fun halftime hip-hop bass cut and absolutely filthy. The vocal track on “Thinkin Bout U” yearns for a lost love. Sustained bass notes dominate the bassline, settling into a nice groove for .
Yewz made a name for himself by amassing a massive amount of unreleased tunes and refining his songwriting and synthesis abilities. “Blaze” feels like the culmination of months of hard work and dedication as Yewz ushers in a new age for his project.
The Arizona producer will make his Minnesota debut on May 26th playing direct support for Lumasi.
