Prepare to be immersed in the wicked vibrations and low frequencies of Ren Zukii’s new single, “10 Hour Shower,” out on WAKAAN now! Closing out the year, this prodigious producer stays true to her form in this new track, jam-packed with the hottest synths and the darkest beats.
Ren Zukii, or Rene Snow, is a West-Australian-based producer who is a force to be reckoned with in the experimental bass realm of music. Growing up on the south coast of a scenic surfing town in Australia, Ren was introduced to Drum and Bass at the young age of twelve and began her DJing career at eighteen, eventually pursuing her passion to create her own sound.
With many EPs and singles released under the WAKAAN label, this creator has carved a niche for herself in the expansive electronic scene, blending intricate rhythms and heavy basslines into her distinctive style. She says her inspirations draw from influential artists including but certainly not limited to heavyweights like Ivy Lab, Eprom, Alix Perez, and Flying Lotus.
The new track starts slow and ominous, leading listeners into the tropical atmosphere of scolding, liquid bass. With scratchy vocals and swanky melodies, this certified anthem truly showcases Ren Zukii’s unique style and crisp sound design. Here’s what she had to say about “10 Hour Shower“:
“I wrote this track in a tropical thunderstorm in Sumatra, Indonesia. It rained for 10 hours straight while I was there on a surfing trip, so that’s where the title of the track comes from. I was feeling super inspired to write music while in Indonesia, as I used to live there when I was 16, teaching English in a local village.”- Ren Zukii.
