Bassrush‘s The Prophecy compilation albums have introduced us to some of our favorite quarantine producers. Vol. 1 had hits from G-Space, Eazybaked, sfam, Shanghai Doom, and Chef Boyarbeatz. Vol. 2 introduced us to Super Future, Saka,Khiva,FLY, Nik P, and Floret Loret. Even Vol. 3 brought out all the stops, featuring efforts more up and coming talents including Ruvlo, Krilla, JEANIE &southgate, Farrah, and Weird Waifu.
Today, the Bassrush team is stepping into a new direction to push some even more underground producers into the spotlight.
Bassrush is teaming up with Discovery Project to showcase different subgenres in the bass world, and they’re starting with dubstep! This ten-track compilation album features tunes from VLCN, AHEE, Yvng Jalapeño, Jinx & Stellar, Zingara & ROYALFLUSH, Slang Dogs, AG, Kromuh & Spades, sebjin, and YKES.
VLCN is one of the biggest names to come out of underground dubstep over the past year. He’s playing Sunset Music Festival this weekend and was one of the first artists to grace our HIHF guest mix series. On his track “Pull Up”, he brings the absolute madness he has become well known for.
AHEE is a true champion of the underground. The longstanding producer and alien enthusiast is well-known for his youtube production tutorials that have helped loads of growing artists and made a profound impact on the scene as a whole. He’s appeared on labels like Excision‘s Subsidia Records, Subtronics’ Cyclops Recordings, and Flux Pavilion and Doctor P‘s Circus Records. “Killer Thriller”, his new tune released on Discover: Dubstep 001, was even premiered within Zeds Dead’s most recent episode of Deadbeats radio.
Slang Dogs bring out their own genre-blending production chops and put everything on the line for “Blood”. Jinx and Steller tear down the house for their massive, wall-breaking dubstep collab “Cosmic Haze”. Jinx is another HIHF mix series alumnus and is slated to play Insomniac’s Forbidden Kingdom next month.
