Ookay is back! After giving us a bop like “Deep With Me”, he returns to bring us the second installment from his highly anticipated sophomore album, titled “Weekends.”
After giving us a massive track like “Thief” along with remixes from Flux Pavilion and Slushii, Ookay took the momentum that the early release brought him and went to work. Since then, he has made the shift to Ookay Live, which transformed his sets from a DJ performance to a full live performance, with instruments and vocals.
While Ookay has propelled himself into his music career, his roots are just as vast as his success. His childhood was filled with nights spent with his dad who had him carrying equipment to shows and experiencing live music. He credits his musical ability to his father during those years and can now play the drums, trombone, piano, bass, guitar, and harmonica.
“Weekends” is another flex of Ookay’s ability to blur the lines between genres like EDM and Pop. On theme with the first release off of the project, this new tune is a captivating pseudo-love song that expresses the complications of budding relationships.
“People have really different lives, as they should. This song is about a girl who has a different life than I do, and we try to make it work…even if I’m busy sleeping. Have you been through a similar situation?” – Ookay
