Today’s post is a very special one to me. Not only do I get to write about a reggae-inspired, thick dub tune, but it just so happens to be produced by one of my favorite HIHF teammates. Noah Sherman aka IORA has released “Me & You” via Wavecraft Collective – a nostalgic, yet modern dub sound that has arrived just in time for summer.

When he’s not writing for HeardItHereFirst, the Brooklyn-based producer is working on his craft while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in bass music. He has kept many things under wraps over the last couple of years, slowly building an arsenal of out-of-this-world heaters that have caught the attention of names such as Sully, Chomppa, SuperAve., Shanghai Doom, and several others. This week’s release on Wavecraft is a genuine sign that IORA has arrived, and he is ready to unleash the goldmine of quality tracks that he is currently sitting on.

“Me & You” is the launchpad into summer that we all crave. It is IORA’s second release on Wavecraft, the first being “Hallucinate”, which was released last summer on the Friday of Sound Haven. IORA transports us to a hazy sunset on the beach with this intro, setting the stage with a nostalgic reggae vibe.

The combination of the vocals, echoey drums and blissful synths set us up for a massive stomper of a drop. The number of different basses that are showcased throughout this track shows the true range of IORA. They are uniquely fat, yet also very tasty and clean. The blend of old and new dub creates a modern classic that will be sure to have your next event bouncing and popping off!

Here’s what IORA had to say about his new release:

“I grew up on the sounds of reggae. Artists like Bob Marley and Peter Tosh wrote the soundtrack to my childhood. When I started listening to bass music in my teenage years, artists like Rusko spoke to me with their reggae influence. I wanted to synthesize that nostalgia with a fresh sound in time for the summer, and ‘Me & You’ reflects the spirit of that sound through the lens of my own project. I am beyond ecstatic that Wavecraft Collective saw the potential in this one and decided to support my vision with a release through their label. Keep an eye out for more releases this summer!”

This is just the beginning for IORA. He is a name that you are going to want to pay closer attention to as we move into summer. What did you think of “Me & You”? Let us know in the comments below or on our social media!
