Philly-based artist Vide rose to prominence alongside other Lost Dogz artists such as EAZYBAKEDAbelationSumthin Sumthin, and more, and set himself apart with some of the hardest-hitting tracks in the scene today. His new EP, “Cerebral Realm,” is a masterclass in bass music production, delivering crispy mixdowns and gut-punching percussion.

This EP shows off Vide’s ability to craft lush soundscapes, perfectly exemplified in the EP’s opening track “Salvation” as well as the next track “Dawning.” These two tunes show Vide’s ability to give his songs some incredible depth, allowing listeners to get lost within his sounds.

“Hydrated,” with Retchs, is where the EP takes a turn, with a haunting melody that gives way to gut-punching bass. The heavily-distorted bassline makes it impossible not to get your head nodding and your feet moving. The EP’s eponymous fourth track utilizes a dazzling array to complement the bassline. The final track, “Timelapse,” explores numerous different bass stabs and topline FX to represent the inevitability of time.

Vide garnered much support after decimating sound systems at festivals like Sound Haven and Submersion last year. In 2022, he appeared more as Nic Baker, his side project with fellow Philadelphian Inspect3r. We’ve got our eyes peeled for Vide and Nic Baker on more festival lineups as the year progresses. You don’t want to miss catching these tunes in a live setting.
