Tucked away in the heart of Jaceland, Tennessee, Sound Haven will be returning for its seventh year, and we are so excited to see what new upgrades are in store. From August 31st to July 3rd, this year will feature four artfully designed stages, with even more lasers!
Festival-goers can expect impressive sound systems, groundbreaking producers, and live visual artists with numerous vendors and workshops to check out in between sets! Hosted by Nashville-based collective Sacred Hive, Sound Haven is known for its laid-back atmosphere. Kick it with your festival fam and vibe out to spectacular bass music and production. The festival encourages attendees to bring inflatable couches, umbrellas, and chairs to relax on as the bass vibrates throughout the grounds. This year, we can also count on the return of Elevated Experiences, a team of unique slack-line artists that showcase exceptional balance above the trees. The Sound Haven crew is preparing for us a multitude of stellar upgrades while preserving the elements that make this festival a weekend to remember.
One key aspect of Sound Haven is the fact that there are zero set conflicts, ensuring attendees can catch every artist they desire without missing any of their must-see shows. As we all know, set conflicts can be brutal sometimes, so it is praiseworthy that Sound Haven has pulled this off.
Being on-brand with the festival’s name, we can expect insanely balanced and crisp sound waves echoing through the trees of Jaceland. The crew brings out state-of-the-art sound systems such as Element 5, HSD, & a massive Funktion One Vero for the main stage. These speakers are some of the best in the country, and you will not want to miss hearing your favorite artists play from these top-notch systems. The festival does not have a sound ordinance, so the music is alive and well from dawn to dusk. We can look forward to sunset/sunrise sets and renegades all throughout the night. Music is at full volume from noon to six AM, so don’t forget your earplugs!
Sound Haven is a pristine setting for our underground bass community to connect, appreciate music, and thrive under the stars. Unlike a larger-scale mainstream festival, Sound Haven is intimate and community-oriented, which makes this event exceedingly special to many. Being a grassroots festival, it has an undeniably authentic atmosphere for bass music culture. I look forward to experiencing the essence of this festival and hope to capture the unfiltered beauty within our niche community, tied together through our love for bass music.
Sound Haven is well-known for its main stage, which beholds the awestruck UFO that keeps the interstellar vibes going throughout the weekend. This stage is an iconic staple of this festival, with artists playing on CDJs surrounded by a massive, out-of-this-world UFO infrastructure. In efforts to mix things up and upgrade the stage for 2025, the staff of Sound Haven announced last year that the UFO would not return. But due to an overwhelming amount of UFO love and hype from Sound Haven attendees, the festival decided that they would bring back the iconic infrastructure after all! This stage mesmerizes the audience with an enormous Funktion One Vero sound system and mind-blowing production elements. Festival-goers are excited to see who will take over the UFO this year, and I look forward to witnessing it along with the other three stages!
Sound Haven came through last week showcasing its phase one lineup, featuring next-level headliners including Caspa, Ivy Lab, Truth, Opiuo, SHADES, and a special 1985 label takeover with Alix Perez.
It doesn’t stop there. The lineup is stacked with some of our favorites, such as Chmura, Artifakts, Saka, Torcha, Distinct Motive, and so many more! After seeing Caspa go B2B with the fellow dubstep godfather, Rusko, at Lost Lands 2024, I am eager to witness the OG dubstep phenom showcase his remarkable talents once again at Sound Haven.
We are also about to catch some serious vibes from Alix Perez’s 1985 takeover as he brings on stage a collective of other talented artists under his label. Another headlining act of Sound Haven this year is SHADES, a collaborative ten-year project with Alix Perez and EPROM, that just announced an expansive Summer tour to celebrate a decade of genre-defying electronic music. So many other emerging artists will have the chance to play on huge stages with high-quality sound systems, and I cannot wait to see what these DJs have in store for us. The final lineup is not even out yet, and fans are already anticipating the best year of Sound Haven yet. With 2024’s success, many bass lovers have already locked in their tickets and are looking forward to a weekend of unparalleled experiences.
We are only a few months away from vibing out with our festival crew, favorite artists, and of course, the beloved UFO. Bass music enthusiasts are eager to experience Sound Haven as it continues to level up each year. In past years, the staff has faced challenges such as uncontrollable weather conditions in 2023 that delayed the festival. But their success and upgrades thereafter have shown us that they have built a strong, resilient collective of individuals who know how to curate an unforgettable time for the bass community. Their efforts to make this festival a safe, well-rounded environment have shown through, and I know I’ll see the same amount of dedication this year. From the magic of ethereal sunrise sets to the unmatched energy of late-night renegade performances, Sound Haven is geared up to present us with a weekend filled with magnificent endeavors.
