Two artists consistently leading the charge in hybrid electronic trap and bass are Runnit and HerShe, their new track from Runnit’s upcoming EP, Run That Shit Back, feels like a destined collision between their styles. The track comes off of Runnit’s Baltimore-based label Partica, which has been promoting and releasing some of the most eccentric and unique sounds today.

The track is driven by a classic boom-bap rhythm with big 808s and moody plucks. HerShe hits this verse effortlessly, as usual, and the hype is real over the course of the build. The groove is tight, and the interplay between the fluttering sub-bass and metallic stabs is satisfying and easy to get lost in on the dancefloor. HerShe’s verse over the more traditional hip-hop sections followed by face-melting bass makes this tune a fun one to make ugly faces to.

Runnit’s Baltalk EP drops June 3rd, so you won’t have to wait very long for more wild electronic trap featuring Krilla, Goodknight, and Scullion. This is another sweet release for HerShe as well, building much anticipation for her Breath Control EP dropping next week on May 25.
