Underground bass music in the States has never been better and the latest single from Meduso and Raaket is no exception. These two rising stars are on a warpath, unleashing some of the filthiest distorted basslines in the scene. “In The Place,” out now on Wubaholics, features an epic, powerful guitar lick that gives way to a punishing bassline. This track will be an absolute weapon that will devastate sound systems all year. You can catch these talented producers at the Wubaholics takeover at the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival on the Maruader Art Car.

Meduso is a HIHF Guest Mix alum on a meteoric rise in the bass scene. He masterfully blends heavy guitar and sustained, fleshed-out basslines with incredibly unique rhythms. There is a huge visual component to his project as well. Many of his sets are A/V sets with his personally-created visuals. “In The Place“ is no exception, as Meduso told us he utilized AI and his own editing techniques for the single artwork. He had an impressive 2022, including opening for Smoakland on tour and playing the main stage at Sound Haven. He’ll grace the stage at Jungle Dreaming in Costa Rica in March and Wub N Dub Festival in North Carolina in April as well.

Raaket is following a very similar path. His other new single “Homecoming” is another epic bass smasher fit for an opening kickoff at a football game. His sets are bursting at the seams with vibrant energy. We’ll have our eyes peeled for his name on festival lineups all summer as he also has a huge future ahead.

It’s hard to ignore the rise of Wubaholics. The label formed in 2020 and hosted some of the industry’s biggest rising stars, including HIHF Guest Mix Series alums Tape B and blurrd vzn, among others.

They are hosting the Marauder art car that both Raaket and Meduso are playing at Okeechobee this weekend and also released tunes from some of our favorite up and comers like Feelmonger, Allen Mock, Illanthropy, Common Creation and tons more!
