Suwannee Hulaween is curated deep in the heart of the forest of Live Oak, Florida, where The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park lies. The park is an extremely intimate campground, with rolling hills where multiple stages are located. That intimacy of the campground combined with the prime stage locations creates an energy amongst all that is truly incomparable to any other festival.

The energy of Suwannee Hulaween 2021 could even be compared to and considered the modern-day Woodstock.

The energy of The Spirit of Suwannee is truly contagious! Attendees are people of all ages and backgrounds, traveling from all over the country to attend. Babies, teens, adults, and seniors all can be found at Hulaween. The lineup is as diverse as they come, featuring bands like Greensky Bluegrass, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, and My Morning Jacket as well as electronic acts like Skrillex, Zeds Dead, Lotus, Lane 8, and more.

One will find themselves completely immersed in total bliss and surrendering to the sounds of the music while connecting with everything around them, including the serene nature of the forest, and of course, The Spirit of Suwannee.

A Diverse Lineup To Match A Diverse Crowd

The lineup of Hulaween 2021 featured various genres of music, a little something for everone, including but not limited to bass, house, rap, and funk. The diversity of the lineup created a beautiful experience for all who attended. It was an incredibly surreal feeling for a music lover to be leaving an insanely wonky bass artist’s performance and then walking right over to finish the night off with a soothing, soulful jam band.

Opening night of the festival was a magical start that truly set the vibe for the entire weekend. The Deadbeats Takeover featuring Wreckno, LSDREAM, and Zeds Dead provided an immediate highlight to the festival. The energy at all three of these sets was untouchable and you could really feel that everyone in the crowd was so happy to be back at a festival together.

Wreckno slayed the stage, combining his vicious vocals with his bass-heavy tracks as he mixed. LSDREAM never disappoints and brought an immensely happy vibe to the night after the sun had just set. Finishing off the night with Zeds Dead in the rain was a dream come true. The hour-and-a-half-long set performed by Zeds Dead was the perfect way to end the first day!

Friday was a day to remember at Hulaween. Daily Bread opened The Amphitheater stage with the most inviting sounds of funk and good vibes. The Floozies delivered a perfect set on the same stage, with even more funky sounds and vibrant energy. It was truly a funk-fueled day at The Amphitheater stage with Manic Focus getting the crowd moving after the sun went down.

The rest of the night was spent between the two main stages; The Meadow and The Hallows. Bonobo performed a brilliant organic-house set at The Hallows, followed by Chris Lake doing what he does best, throwing down some filthy bass house. Turning around and walking five hundred feet in the other direction to arrive at The Meadow stage for the mind-boggling Skrillex set was the cherry on top of the night. Skrillex touched every subgenre within EDM within an hour-and-a-half featuring the smoothest transitions and some of the biggest hits in EDM history.

String Cheese Incident played multiple sets throughout the weekend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The OG jam band never fails to deliver party-starting vibrations to their diverse crowds. If you’ve never caught a String Cheese set before, I highly recommend it. String Cheese gives the crowd some heavy bass drops that impress even the biggest bass music gurus!

Earthgang performed quite literally the most impressive rap music set I’ve ever attended, and at Hula’s best stage – The Amphitheater. The group spent an incredible amount of time connecting and interacting with the crowd. Their performance truly felt like a group of best friends hanging out together for the first time in a while. Don’t miss these guys if you get the chance to see them.

Another favorite set on Saturday was performed by R&B/Soul act Leon Bridges. The singers’ voice conveys pure compassion, love, and heart-felt energy with each note emitted. The set was nothing short of beautiful, filling the hearts of the crowd with joy and their eyes running with happy tears.

Hulaween was so beyond belief that when Sunday arrived it felt like the weekend ending couldn’t be possible. All attendees were sad it was the last day of the “greatest festival ever,” but trust me, the closing night of the festival did not disappoint.

Mize got the party started before sunset at The Spirit Lake stage. His set was full of bass, throwback rap tunes, and had the crowd jumping for joy.

Jungle delivered a magnificently vibey set on The Hallows stage that will be relived in our heads for years. These guys also have a huge future ahead of them. We will be catching them at Okeechobee for another can’t miss set come March.

Mersiv dropped a new album right before the event, and he came to impress us with those new tracks at Hulaween. Hearing all of the tracks from his album “Pretty Dark Loud” live for the first time was so euphoric and beyond enlightening. Mersiv expressed his thanks to everyone numerous times as he delivered an impressive, yet humble, bass-powered set. If you haven’t attended a Mersiv set yet, get that onto your to-do list!

Spirit Lake: Where The Magic Happens

Imagine a setting where your craziest, wildest dreams could become real. Spirit Lake is that place! Spirit Lake provided various art exhibits from hundreds of artists around the world and brought a mystical energy into the festival.

The lake runs top-tier light shows projected on the water all night long. The light shows truly blow you away, as they are just as enlightening as a full live set from a DJ.

A casino can be found inside, packed full of people, gambling, trading, and just having a great time.

Spirit Lake is an interactive art experience with truly magnificent attributes that show experts were involved in the crafting of this unique festival experience! Magic is found here all night long, and even into the days.
