The renowned Electric Forest Festival is located in Rothbury, Michigan, where all of the magic ensues within the fantasy that is Sherwood Forest.

Electric Forest is brought to you in collaboration by Insomniac and Madison House Presents, featuring four days of camping with a multi-genre lineup covering all ends of the electronic spectrum.

This year’s headliners in the forest include three sets from The String Cheese Incident throughout the weekend, The Disco Biscuits and Disclosure on Thursday, GRiZ and Sylvan Esso on Friday, Porter Robinson, SLANDER, and Fisher on Saturday, concluding the weekend with Louis The Child and Big Gigantic on Sunday!

The Forest is well-known for its extensive art installations and presents a jam-packed art lineup for 2022. It includes The Complimentary Bar, Creation Station, Leelanau Plant Company, The Poetry Society Of NY, and The Wild Optimists amongst tons of other awesome creative experiences!

Heard It Here First will be on-site in the Forest and here are the shows we are most looking forward to covering:

Jason Leech – 5pm Thursday & 8:30pm Saturday @ Honeycomb

Jason Leech is a DJ, keyboardist, producer, and writer based out of Louisville, Kentucky. This artist performs pianos and synths over a variety of electronic music beats. He started by playing piano over original EDM mixes and experimenting with them to produce his own style. Jason has opened for artists such as GRiZ, Big Gigantic, Manic Focus, OOKAY, and more and has even collaborated with acts like CloZee and Luzcid in the past. We can’t wait to see what this artist brings to the forest!

LYNY – 3:45pm Sunday @ The Observatory

Based out of Chicago, Alec Leinhauser is just getting started making his mark on the world of electronic music. He is just twenty years old and pushing the boundaries of electronic music with his discoveries of new sounds combined with melodic compositions. His style is influenced by hip-hop and trap heavily. LYNY has gained major support from the industry with his recent releases, and this is certainly a CAN’T MISS set at Forest 2022 with how on fire this artist has been as of late.

A Hundred Drums – 5pm Sunday @ The Obersvatory

The woman behind the magical A Hundred Drums act is Gabrielle Watson. She has been curating a sound that encapsulates psychedelic bass, experimental bass, and indigenous hand drums. This artist, based out of Denver, CO, has been making her mark in the underground for the last decade and has been emerging big time to the main stages in the last year, playing huge festivals like Ultra Music Festival, Okeechobee, and Bonnaroo coming up next week. Watson’s producing and mixing skills are out-of-this-world and we definitely won’t be missing her set in the Forest!

Smoakland – 3:30pm Thursday @  Sherwood Court

From the Bay area, this duo has been producing “old school-style” dubstep for over seven years. The pair met in college as student-athletes and ended up embarking on a journey of music production together. The sound design of Smoakland is widely unique, incorporating rhythmic melodies and deep basslines within their work. Smoakland has seriously been on the rise in recent years, indicating you definitely won’t want to miss them at their first appearance in the forest.

Franc Moody – 11pm Saturday @ Carousel Club

This act came about when Ned Franc and Jon Moody were London roommates, both separately existing in underground bands. They decided to come together for a brand new project and Franc Moody was born. This duo ties together the sounds of cosmic disco, soul, and funk. Franc Moody has now become a full-fledged six-piece live band, and they are sure to not disappoint in the forest, as they are well known for their epic live shows. We can’t wait to see the magic they bring to the festival!

Cory Henry – 10:15pm Thursday @ Carousel Club

Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, this artist started playing music at the age of two. Cory Henry started by playing the organ, and by the time he entered high school, he was a staple of the music scene in his very own community. This artist has worked with legends like Kanye West and Frank Ocean and has even earned a grammy for his work alongside band Snarky Puppy. Cory hopes to bring unity to the ears of his listeners, inspiring them through what they feel from his tunes, alongside his epic backing band The Funk Apostles. You most definitely don’t want to miss this one!

Blu DeTiger – 5:45pm Friday @ Sherwood Court

This magical woman comes to you from New York City. She is a producer, DJ, bass player, and singer-songwriter. She makes funky, disco-influenced indie-pop music that truly awakens the soul. Blu DeTiger has been gaining quick momentum in her career over the last couple of years, delivering tracks that have been huge hits and even playing the legendary Red Rocks amphitheater. DeTiger is most definitely an up-and-coming powerhouse in the world of music and her set in the forest is sure to encapsulate all that she brings to the table with her unique stylings!

SunSquabi – 8pm Sunday @ Sherwood Court

This three-piece jamtronica act has been catching the attention of listeners with their unique sounds for several years now. The music of SunSquabi creates a place where electronic music and jam bands come together and deliver incredibly beautiful stylings. Shows put on by this band can be portrayed as an electro-funk experience that never stops evolving and morphing! SunSquabi continues to work hard toward delivering the best possible experience of what a live electronic act should look, sound, and feel like. We can’t wait to see what they have planned for Forest 2022!

Of The Trees – 9:30pm Friday @ Tripolee

Of The Trees comes from Portland, Maine, and has been producing music for over a decade. Heads started turning in the electronic music world toward the extremely talented producer in 2015. This artist has reached many milestones in his career throughout recent years, making waves in the bass music industry and garnering attention from huge names. Of The Trees combines dubstep, deep basslines, and glitch-hop to deliver sounds that fully immerse the soul, body, and mind, transporting the listener to a far away place engulfed in nature that is truly ‘of the trees.’ After a busy 2021 packed with tons of new music and the founding of his Memory Palace Records label, you do NOT want to miss his set at Electric Forest.

Lab Group – 10:15pm Sunday @ Sherwood Court

Lab Group represents a unified group of skill sets and ideas that bring magic to life from producers of various different backgrounds. Following the tragic passing of founding member CharlesTheFirst, this act has curated multiple performances in honor of his legacy. The group, now consisting of founding members Potions and Supertask, as well as Ruku, Player Dave, and TiedyeKy, just concluded a five-day retreat where they produced over ninety minutes of music for the upcoming sophomore project, Lab Group II. We feel honored to be on the way to experiencing the magic from this young super-group in the forest.
